    Happy Memorial Day!

Hope everyone is enjoying the holiday with friends and family and staying cool and hydrated!

    FIRST MEET TOMORROW!!

I have attached some parking guidelines and meet day tips from our host team, The Meadows.  Now, Tammy's Tips for a smooth meet...

    1. Arrive early...allow yourself plenty of time for parking and walking a bit to the pool!
    2. Warm ups start at 4:30, PLEASE be there on time to give your swimmer all the "tools" for success!
    3. I have completed and submitted all of the entries for the meet based on what we have seen at practice.  If I put your child in an event they aren't comfortable with, PLEASE encourage them to try.  It is possible I made some errors, since this is the first meet and several swimmers are new to our team.  BUT, I  BELIEVE that I only put swimmers into events that WE, AS COACHES, believe they are capable of doing.  As parents, PLEASE encourage them to try swimming the event, even if it is hard or uncomfortable for them. Explain that this is a TEAM sport, and it takes EVERYONE trying their best for us to do the team's best! Encourage them to talk to me, Graham, or Alyssa if they have concerns. They will learn great life lessons if you have THEM come to us, instead of you doing it for them.
    4. NORMALLY, I would say text or call me if you have any last minute changes or are running really late, etc.  BUT, sadly, I will not be at this meet.  My husband sweetly planned a trip for us during the last week of May so as not to interfere with swim team season...however, this year, meets begin a bit earlier than normal, so here we are! I will be missing tomorrow.  In all honesty, I believe I have only missed about 5 meets in my 35 years of coaching SST. I am crushed and tried HARD to change my flight to Wednesday...but the cost was not justifiable.  SOOOO...call or text Alyssa (832-314-6044) or Mike (281-450-5405) if you have issues.  Keep in mind that they will be very busy just before and during the meet, so be patient if they don't answer right away.  AND, please call only if it is important.  They don't need to know if you are going to be 5 min late...but if you are going to be 30 min late...that is important to know! It may affect a relay at the beginning of the meet!
    5. Bring chairs for adults (not swimmers) and water for everyone! It is going to be HOT!
    6. Please sign up on the website to volunteer in SOME capacity.  If everyone does SOME to help, no one has to do it ALL!

Feel free to email me or text me...I will have my phone!
